Our purpose is to come alongside women and girls in North Queensland who are doing it tough - to give them a hand to help them to find a way out of the hurt, and to give them hope.
In July 2018 Letitia Shelton, founder and CEO of City Women (Toowoomba), came to Townsville and shared her story of transforming a city at four public events. From this, over 60 women registered their willingness to make a difference here in Townsville.
We formed the City Women NQ Inc. Association to create a firm foundation for this to occur, and we celebrated our launch in October 2018. We are actively working on ways we can help the homeless, organising visits to women who are shut-ins, and implementing the Bella program in schools to help girls know their value, beauty & strength.
We have run, and will continue to run, a Money Management Basics course to help women who are struggling with their finances.
Eva's Place - to help establish a pregnancy and early parenting support centre in Townsville
RizeUp - to support women and their families who have been affected by domestic violence in Townsville
The Pyjama Foundation - to support children in fostercare
